The 2004 ISES Peripheral Vascular Fellows' Competition was conducted during the Peripheral Vascular Fellows' Forum at the International Congress on Endovascular Interventions XVII meeting on February 9,  2004. The 5th annual competition featured three finalists in two award categories: the Laboratory Research Award, for laboratory based experimental study for cardiovascular disease and the Clinical Research Award, for clinical investigation of human vascular disease.

The winners of the 2004 ISES Peripheral Vascular Fellows' Competition were announced during the ISES 11th Annual General Assembly meeting on February 10, 2004: 

Laboratory Research Award

The winning Laboratory Research presentation by Dr. Bicknell was entitled "Biological and Duplex Features of Carotid Plaques Predict Embolization During Carotid Endoluminal Intervention".

The winning Clinical Research presentation by Dr. Kritpracha was entitled "Post-Endograft Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Shrinkage Varies Among Hospitals: Observations from Multicenter Trials ".

The manuscripts of the finalists' presentations will be published in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Endovascular Therapy.
