To this end, the ISES Annual Education Workshop completed its fifth year of resounding success.

On Sunday, February 11, 2007 for the fifth in this well-attended series, as Dr. Frank Criado and a panel of special speakers hosted this special workshop entitled,  CAS versus CEA: Evolving Indications and Emerging Results - State of the Art 2007.

Purpose

The purpose of this workshop was to provide the latest information and data about carotid stenting versus carotid endarterectomy.

Objectives

The educational objectives of the workshop was to:

  • create awareness on the current status of carotid stenting and where it stands in relationship to surgical CEA

  • review latest CAS trial results and what they mean

  • gain insight on the future of CAS and its place in the management of carotid artery disease at present

  • learn the reimbursement status of CAS, today and tomorrow

Target Audience
Participants were vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists and radiologists and all vascular and endovascular specialists.
